Intensity level 7-10

Musculoskeletal Therapy, otherwise known as myotherapy, is a physical therapy used to treat myofascial dysfunction which negatively affects one’s mobility. Myotherapy restores the normal functionality of the musculoskeletal structure, thus improving ranges of movement. Myotherapy addresses not only the muscular pains but also the individual’s occupational and environmental factors which may contribute to their condition.

Technique

After assessing the symptoms, a Myotherapy treatment will follow up with techniques to release the muscle tensions. This includes muscle and passive stretching, trigger point therapy, and acupressure. These techniques help to restore the myofascial to its healthy and relaxed state, preventing it from further restricting movements.

Benefits

Myotherapy can treat a range of problems, such as sports injuries, stiff bodies, postural syndromes like tennis elbow and shin splints, symptoms associated with arthritis, back pain, neck pain, headaches, stress, tension and aids recovery after surgery. Myotherapy treats both the symptoms and the underlying cause of the pain by correcting the postural or muscular imbalances which caused the myofascial dysfunction.
